Sub/Amp Replacement?

  SchwepTek™
I've had my amp and sub in my last 2 cars but it weighs a ton and takes up most of the boot!

I have Sony Co-Axials all round at the moment and take all the bass out of these so that most comes from the sub. Turning bass up in the speakers and turning the volume up sounds rubbish! :(

Is there an alternative I can use other than 6x9s to get some decent quality sound?

I know 6x9's arent favoured by everyone, but if you do a really tidy job with all the wires etc and get someone decent to sort the stealth shelf you wont regret it, mate of mine has infinitys in there, and got in carpeted and re-inforced for like 40£ cant see them, and sound 10x better than without. Cant really think of any other solution!

(gives you back your boot too)

I've just got a 182 myself, and keeping the standard speakers/stereo/cd changer I've wired in a 10" sub and amp that only takes up a third of the boot and it sounds fine to me - had to turn the gain down on the amp as it was too bassy to start with.

Ah i dunno, im just fed of taking out the sub everytime i wanna use the boot plus it weighs the car down loads lol!

Could go the 6x9 route as the amp will already be there. Any links to stealth shelves?
