subframe removal/ re fitting



  RS 182 CUP
how hard is it to do? whats involved in doing it? is there a easy way to do it? how long would it take me to do?

i have a two post ramp and tools required to do the job, any advice welcome

4 x 16mm bolts holding the rack onto the subframe, i leave the rack in, easier IMO
unbolt both ball joints
unbolt dogbone and lower engine mount
drop subframe (remove gearlinkage bar if you're being extra careful)

Fred speaks sense about the rack, first time I took the subframe off a clio I took the rack with it, such a pain in the ass.

yep, no idea why you'd want to take the rack out with the frame, sod undo the PAS pipes!

Yep it was a mental moment a few years back, f**king hated putting the column back in the rack, especially on my own.

I've got 2 ph1 subframes if they are. I think they are the same just steering rack and wishbones are different!
