sunstrip plain black 7inches down legal?

  172 turbo
basically want to buy sunstrip as cars completly stripped and suns starting to piss me off, found most standard are 7inches by 55 and obviously need cutting, but 7 inches is perfect in width , reckon traffic would leave me alone, i mean its not as bad as some you see nearly halfway down cheers opinions ans past experiences ?

If its in the wipers view then it wont pass MOT, but i had one about 5" down, looked good but then got rid due to hassle of MOT

i have one, and im pretty sure its 7 inches, (car is stripped out too)
and theyve never pointed it out,

it IS technically an MOT fail if the windscreen wipers go over it, but im yet to find any MOT station that bothers!!
im sure if they did bring it up and you offered to tear if off there and then, they would let you!

If they're inside, they're legal tho, right ? I appreciate that 7" inside will require some cutting around the interior mirror....

Invest in some decent sunnies ;)

probs more hastle than its worth tbh,

seriously i live in Essex and enjoy the cruise scene so my car gets a lot of police attention,
and ive never had it mentioned to me at all!

and if it botheres you that much, get shorter wipers so that they dont go over the strip,
then its 100% legal! (providing the wipers clear the screen)

god help me please, i cbf with the hassle of getting pulled you know, some police forum said 6inches down the limit so fixed rule it seems, i mean from the inside it will look gash but good from outside?

Fair enough chaps. I thought it was 'if the wiper touches it' therefore assuming outside..... I don't have this problem as I don't drive a Touring Car.

Mine's almost 12 inches at the sides I think...narrowing to about 8 or 9 in the middle due to the curvature of the screen.

Never had a problem with the five-0, but I do rip it off before each MOT, then put a nice fresh one on straight after. I think the fact that it's mat black helps as it doesn't really stand out that much.

Having said that, I never got any attention when I had bright orange or the yellow one on either.

lol fair enough do they look better fitted from inside or outside, most look good from the outside when fitted on the inside post pics up please?

I've just put one on mine that's a bit smaller than marks at about 10 inches in matt black and it looks awesome, I used to have one on my Zs and never had any problems, fingers crossed this ones the same as only fitted it Saturday!

Personally, I think they look good on the outside and are so much easier to fit as you don't have to remove the interior mirror.

Can't upload one atm, sorry mate.

Mine is a road car lol but like I said very similar to the pic above and in matt black aswell, possibly a little bit higher up the windscreen :)
