I heard that the engine has already done 500 to 1k before putting it into the car so that the engine has no metal from wearing in it so they change oil etc to remove filings. could be nonsense tho

id imagine they do run them a fair bit and flush them a few times at the factory, else ud get all kinds of crap going thru the engine from the manufacturing process, dust, bits of metal etc..

Whats the average life for a dash bulb as my gear change one has had some considerable use since the 600 miles mark.
^do what.
Does the gear change light not indicate the optimum time to hammer it in to the next gear?

Whatever.
I take it as a hint rather than a warning.
If I wanted to change gear at a lower RPM I would have bought a Dci
they cant just put it into the car without testing there is some quality control and testing, hard to believe from renault i know. if they didnt you would not have the smooth ride from day one it would vibrate horribly until the excess metal etc around the moving parts has worn then you would have to have the garage flush the engine that would be even more expensive. its a sport remember might not be like this with the other models

wrong, its not a ford anglia engine, tollerances are bollock on these day, metal floating round inside the engine? don't be daft
thrash it from day one
leve the forecourt bouncing off the limiter...
I am well happy.
I own the best sporting clio model ever created!
Must try and change gear sooner :dapprove:
Nope they don't do this at all.I heard that the engine has already done 500 to 1k before putting it into the car so that the engine has no metal from wearing in it so they change oil etc to remove filings. could be nonsense tho
Quality is built in no need to test every car.they cant just put it into the car without testing there is some quality control and testing, hard to believe from renault i know. if they didnt you would not have the smooth ride from day one it would vibrate horribly until the excess metal etc around the moving parts has worn then you would have to have the garage flush the engine that would be even more expensive. its a sport remember might not be like this with the other models
just drive it like you feckin stole it! no need to 'run in' modern cars imo, just make sure it's up to temp
