Suspension query

Mate has a 53 plate 172FF and the drivers side rear shocker is shot by the looks of it(fluid all over it and the back end knocks on bumps).I also have a 172FF but his suspension feels more solid than mine hinting that it may have the cup suspension on it.Is there a way i can find out if it has this set up on it before he orders the wrong shockers.Also how much is a pair of rear shockers for it.

a FF 172 wont have cup suspension on unless it was fitted aftermarket, which I cant see why anyone would do as it would be cheaper to fit better aftermarket stuff.

Could it not feel more solid/firm because the shocks gone?

No,it was solid/firm before the shock gave up the ghost,also feels more planted on the front end than mine.

Any idea how much a set of rear shocks are for the 172?.
