suspension shocks

Car  Clio 197
I dunno a lot about suspension shocks but if the one front shock are soft is that worn out?? Cos I look at my car I can see the driver is lower more than the passenger side. Sometime I drove it & I can feel one side is very soft & other side is hard.

which is worn, hard or soft?:S

thanks

Its worth looking at both shocks, to see if there is any sign of leaking. Also if you push down on each side of the car, you should find that the shock that has failed will bounce instead of absorb the movement, as it will be the spring that is offering the resistance.

From past expereience its normally the side that is soft that has or is on its way out.

Springs, not shocks, determine the ride height, so one could be broken.

Both the rear springs on my 172 broke.

right ok I go check thanks

btw my front shocks done over 80k miles, think they are getting tired & worn.

I'm on Apex 40mm springs, I only got it last year

Right I had a look my front shocks, driver side got a leak & passenger side feel oil damp is about to had it :(

what should I do, should I get the same shocks or buy suspension kits?

Depends but personaly I'd get all new Renault shocks all round. You should always replace shock in pairs so why not change them all.

Yeah that I was thinking.:)

I found out how much the price for these my RSi & not too bad.

Why need to change the rear shocks too?
