Suspension stiff/banging

Going to be quite vague this but on the passenger side everytime I go over a slight bump in the road I get a really loud thud inside the car. Doesn't sound healthy at all! Also when going over speed humps instead of just going up and over, it feels like the drivers side goes over first and the passenger feels really stiff. I'm gonna have a look tomorrow but just wondering if anyone has had anything similar, broken coil maybe? Rear shocks have been changed in the last 6 months so can't see it being that.

As you said probably broken spring or one of the shocks has s**t its insides out.

I'd say it's probably your shock... My rears produced the exact same symptomns so worth checking those first.

Visually mine looked OK, it was only when I removed them that it became obvious they were knackered.

I'd be pretty confident that it's a knackered shock too. That banging noise is difficult to ignore!

I've had a broken spring before now too - approx the last inch of one of my Eibach Sportlines. That was a lot more subtle in terms of how the car 'felt' though.

i experienced something similar and it turned out somehow the top of the spring had jumped over the "cap" that compresses it, god knows how it managed that but luckily i was changing the springs anyway so didnt matter, worth just taking off your arch liner and having a look before taking it somewhere

Thanks for the input guys, turns out the speedbump issue is a worn front shock absorber which is being replaced ASAP, as for the rear 'thud' over tiny bumps in the road I still have no idea as everything is in its place so I can only assume I need another damper? Which should be under warranty as I had it replaced within the last 6 months.
