symptoms leading to spark plugs ?

ive had a search but couldnt find a definate answer as it came back with different solutions to each lol.

basically when its damp/cold, if i put my foot down in the car (not flat out racing etc) say in 3rd, put foot flat, theres hesitation, the car is spluttering and no power, but eventually it 'pulls' itself through it, theres no lights on the dash and plenty of fuel in the car.

ive also saw another thread where someone said their car is struggling to pull off, and occasionally i get that, as if im not giving it enough power to pull off, and they said it was plugs

i would have changed them by now as a trial and error thing, but the service history is sayin its had a service around 3k ago

should i just go ahead and change them ?

could be the tdc sensor. or ht leads etc. Sensor is a common fault though, as they revised a new connection for it

what should i be looking for with the leads, basic cracks and perishing ?

is the TDC under a recall then ?

just for the record, it happens occasionally, drove fine today :-S

tdc is located above gear box on side of engine. Most do it tbh , itll get to a speed then be hesitant for a couple of secs, but once engines warmed up its fine,

leads would just be a case of replcing , but other thing is coil pack, but somes had problems changed everything and it still does it. Personnally i`d worry about it when it gets worse then you`l have better change of diagnosing it to the right part

There's your answer mate. All 1*2's do it when cold. Usually when first started. I presume once it's warm it is fine?

nah mate, even when its upto temperature, its only happened once this week :-s

coil pack! Just changed mine and problem has gone away. 5 minute job to change. Now its just started misfiring intermittently, thinking poss plugs need a change now.

coincidentaly, it started doing it only again today, been fine since november when i psoted this, mate has got a new coil pack spare, ill try that

thanks, if not ill go with the leads/plugs/tdc sensor

I'm gonna have a look at TDC sensor today. then look at changing leads tomoro, then plugs, and work thru things to see if I can identify the problem. I'll post up results.
