Tailored mats don't fit

Hello, I live in Sydney, Australia and ordered a tailored carpet mat set + tailored boot mat for my 2002 Clio Sport 172 from MrCarMats in the UK. Apart from having the wrong colour edging and being a much thinner carpet than was decribed on the website, the driver's side mat is way to long and does not fit in the floor space. It is a completely different shape and size than the original factory fitted 3 piece mat set. They are supposed to fit 1998-2005 Clio's. Do 172's have different mats to non-sport Clios The mat manufacturers explanation is that my Australian delivered 172 has a different floor than a UK spec/delivered Clio yet the factory mat set has only 1 part # for a RHD 172.
Has anyone had a similar experience as there are relatively few Clio 172s in Oz compared to the UK.

No , all MK2 Clios have the same floor , be it a 1.2 , 1.5 diesel , 1*2 etc ..... the manufacturer of the mats is wrong

Just looked on mrcarmats website . And like you say , there is only one option and that's for MK2 Clios 1998 - 2005 , which your 172 most definitely is . Plus the fact you say the edging is the wrong colour from what you ordered .

Thnks for the welcome guys, the manufactuer claims to have sold 100's of these Clio mat sets and never had one problem. Surely my Aussie 172 isn't different than a UK one.

without you showing pics, we are all guessing, but yes I dont see how it can be different either

I ordered Prestige mats in JET colour with BLACK edging + Premium boot mat in MID-GREY with GREY edging. I received 2 X Prestige mat sets in BAT colour with GREY edging and NO boot mat. Prestige mat is supposed to be 1cm thick, the mats I received are much thinner, a total thickness of only 7-8mm. AND they don't fit!
I'll take some pic's when I get a chance and get back to you. Cheers.
