Boys, I was in a grey hoody, hungover...eating chips and gravy out of a tray with too much vinegar on.

Even less of a pretty sight than usual TBQFH ;)

looks like massive overkill,.. But Dave knows what he's doing with a spanner. It must have been the best thing to do. AND he got a w**k out of it for all his efforts!

I was still interested until I read the vinegar part....

In my defence, I didn't buy the chips....Dave's mate Scragg did. And he was too hungover to cope.

A lass is allowed her (many) imperfections....

Anyway, I'm determined not to spam my own thread. Been for a long drive today and apart from a wee bit of a whistle due to the need for a new CAT clamp....the difference is brilliant. No more blowing exhaust :)

I fitted a new cat, mid section and rear silencer, and it's never sounded like it ought to. Takes a lot of fettling.

I HAD to take the bumper off and drop the axle, theres n other way of doing it as a standard system was going back on. They are 1 peice cat back!

New clamp and it'll be sorted, shitty Renault clamp that has done 52k was never gonna go back on ;)

Mrs Dave was there too mate, they could have double teamed but didn't. Selfish IMO.

Dave lad, im impressed you managed it on the driveway! I changed Clares one on a ramp and that was a pig!
Weighs a sodding ton....and i didn't even take the rear bumper off. Needed a gearbox cradle jack just to support the rear beam!

Thats still mint!

Mine on the other hand, weld has cracked holding the mount to the box:

Yozza on friday if my plans work out :)

That's how they left Dieppe IIRC... just with a little less rust

Lol :rasp:

Only Renault would fit a one piece exhaust that you would have to f**k about like that to remove :(

Glad to hear you got it sorted :)

good ole paul flol! ;)

For the record my boxes were in very good conditon to start with before i carried out the task of spraying them! they only had a slight 'staining' were the water from the tail pipe had run down on to them and started to mark them NOT RUST!! but wouldnt clean up with any metal polish! back on Topic now folks! :)

Paul, seriously. You have a problem.

And rust (or rather oxidisation) starts the minute the metal is exposed to air and moisture. So you may not see it....but you're exhausts will never be perfect as you can't keep them in a vaccum ;)

Sod back on topic, just quit posting bloody painted exhausts!

P.S - Try driving your car once in a while, or spend the time you spend cleaning it every spare minute with the missus.

  RB 200 Cup!
tbh tho paul does drive his car - the really obsessive guy with the cleaning was Rich with his black gold 182 - think its only done 6k miles or something silly!

Still love you tho Rich before you go off on one ;)
