Teenage tantrum from the plod

Ive had my 182 nearly a week now and this evening I got my first brush with the local constabulary.

Just went down the video shop and on my way back noticed headlights trying to crawl up my pipes. Put my foot down a bit and put some distance between us and then on came the blue flashers!

Pulled over and up came Mr Plod, all of about 20yrs old with bad acne. (methinks Im getting old). Little mr plod asks me if its my car - yes . Where do you live he asks - I tell him. How long have you had the car - I tell him. Do you have any ID on you - yes my driving licence which he studies and gives back and then asks if I know the speed limit on this road - Yes its 40. He asks if i know how fast I was going - yes I said about 40 until you tried rubbing bumpers so I pulled away a bit why how fast do you think I was going? I asked - He got all flustered and told me to be more careful in future and to consider this as a warning and off he stomped, more like Kevin & Perry than plod!

Is this the shape of things to come? I havent been stopped for over five yrs then one week in a 182 .......

Next time just show him your brake light if he gets to close. I have had a ex traffic officer tell me its what he does if someone is too close, just use your left foot slightly on the brake. But it sounds like you have more experience than me on the road so I dunno.

Thats what I used to do with my old car but Im treating my 182 like a long lost child - didnt want to risk braking too much and having some moron ploughing into the back on me!

The secret is not to brake at all so you wont have someone ploghing into the back of you.A simple touch of the brakes makes it look like you are slamming on but infact you have not slowed at all.

He is just being an arse,i have not had any problems with the filth in mine.

looks like he was pushing you into driving fast so he could do you for speeding. was it an unmarked police car?

he was in a marked up Skoda Octavia, dont think it was traffic car but then again a bit over the top for a local panda? Usually fiestas or focuss. Thinking about it now he was too young to be anything other than local plod but the car was too juicy for anything else?

Very confused!!

Many moons ago when telly was black and white and computers werent invented I had a pug 205 1.9GTI for a couple of years and then a supra turbo but didnt get stopped once!

Its prob got something to do with where you live?
