Temperature Nipple Problem

Allreeeet lads n lasses. Got a query which the search function didnt help with, here goes.....


Ive got a 172 and theres no external temperature display working under my clock on the dash.

So im scratching my head, thinking what it could be...

A Friend turns up in his 172 with two air temperature sensors (one underneath each mirror) and Ive only got one under the passenger side mirror. :S:S


Could this be the problem? Iv only got the left one? Does there need to be two?

Im genuinely confused, and dont want to take it apart unnecessarily.

Does anyone know any info to help?

My 182 had just one and worked, Think its on the N/S Mirror

Mines broken and is displaying 40 atm...lol

Its weird, Ive got one and it doesnt work, but my friends got two and it works :S

same car, same year etc.

Fletch you'll believe that too considering all the heat were having at the mo !!, Fecking lush aint it - Soon to go though :S

Mine has broken too , currently according to my car its tropical outside

Mines a ph2 too, and only has one on the passenger side.
On the driver's side there is just a hole for one.

So maybe just the sensor is fubared tbh... Suppose that can go wrong... Dont even know how much a new sensor is ? Can't be expensive ?

Only came under the passenger side, sounds like the wiring in yours has gone.

my nipples are good at telling temperature, they go hard when its cold!!

Well, just noticed a small crack in my cover, so the previous owner must have hit it or something, could have broke the sensor......grrrrr

Thanks for the advise guys, ill take it apart and look into it.
