temporary car insurance

Hi guys, in a bit of a dilema, my clio at the moment needs some work doing to it (like always) and i am supposed to be picking the Mrs up from Gatwick on friday and i know the car won't be ready.

Basically my dads said i can get insured on his car (1.8 Rover coupe) for the day or whatever. Now here's the problem....

He has trade insurance which insures him 3rd party on any car in his name and being 19 i can't be put on his insurance.

Any one got any good ideas of what i can do??

Take out insurance and then cancel it within 14 days, bit of a pain, but possible.

Yea you need 2 be over 21 for dayinsure, or any temp insurance for that matter.

Are you still insured on the Clio even tho its off the road? If so fone your insurance and ask them 2 insure you for te day thru your own policy?

^^ tried that one but said they would only insure me if the car is in my own name, really tempted to get a policy and then cancel it just a bit of effort lol
