Tesco insurance market value of Williams

Just received my settlement of the claim for my stolen Williams 3 from Tescos. Must say that I am impressed that its only taken 3 weeks to settle the claim.

Now...any guesses as to how much Tesco valued the following:

Williams 3, 84000 miles, Standard car, no mods/ice. Registered Jan. 96.

First guess within £200 of the settlement figures wins.

Paddy WINS! £4925 is their first offer which I can dispute, but wont as it sounds fair.

Goes to show that no matter what some people might say, a Williams in good nick is still going to be worth a fair amount.

And yes, i am pleased as I paid just under £6k for it from a trader 8 months ago, so just under £5k seems good.

I sent them a CD-R with all my pics of it along with all the service history and receipts for work that Id had done on it. Such a shame that the car has gone, but getting a good settlement makes me feel a bit better about it.

Paddy - not sure about what Im going to get next. Will probably just get a smallish bike (maybe a 250 or a 500) to commute on and save on insurance.

It was about £757 i think, fully comp with 5 years NCD.

Gotta agree tesco gave me a great settlement on my 172, and they have even sorted my claim out in no time at all!

Sorry to hear about your williams getting nicked ryhs, im guarding mine with a shotgun once i pick it up!!

The thing with the Willy 1 & 3 is that they are not listed in price guides so they cannot get the valuation the normal way.

Just says "Specialist model - Not listed".

Kind of fancy going back to motorbiking (cheap commuting). My insurance premium will have gone up a fair bit now and I dont think we can afford to insure two performance clios without me having full no claims.

U WOULD BE SURPRISED I WAS WITH TESCO WITH MY SAXO ON ME DADS INSURANCE AND WROTE THAT OFF THEY PAID ME £2795 I WAS PAYING £750 A YEAR. THEN I MOVED TO CIS THEY QUOTED ME £700 WITH MY DAD LOSSING 15% AND MY ECCESS WAS £250 INSTEAD OF £500. SO ALL IN ALL IVE BEEN BETTER OFF FROM WRITING MY CAR OFF

Pleased that you got what you wanted for your Williams, but sad that you lost it.

How about one of these Rhys? Bit quicker than your WIlliams or 250!
