testing speaker wire

just checking all my postives and negatives etc are all wired correctly for getting my head unit back.

is their a way i could test what wire is what, like touch both ends and if they were the same wire a bulb would light up or something?

I think you can test them using a pencil battery or something not sure how but I remember reading it somewhere

Get a multimeter and do the continuity check.

or if u are just checking polarity then u can use a AA battery put the speaker wire on one side and tap the other side and watch which way the cone moves,

inwards is out of phase and out wards is in phase,

personally i would use my meter but thats a quick way of doing ti,
