The best air filter for a 172?

  mini cooper (RIP 172)
Hi I have just bought a Clio 172 (and absolutely love it:D) and was wondering what is the best air filter to get in terms of performance and noise? I have always gone for K&N in the past for my metro and saxo vtr and found them ok. Any suggestions and how much do they cost?

Thanks

the standard airbox is probably the best option. just replace the air filter inside with a performance one such as Pipercross, ITG etc...

will be much better than most induction kits, and costs £30!

welcome mate, there are many to choose from

k&n would be the best for noise, but performance wise you wanna get yourself an enclosed induction kit, like a viper or itg (but these are expensive)

Powertec are the best for noise, really beefy old IK's, especially the oversize 8 inch size filter they do if there is one for the 172. But with open filters a cold air feed is a must.
