Yep they are fibreglass wings and bumper. The shell is Cossie though.

He showed me around it, It had metal rear arches and it had the Cossie spoiler haunches on the rear quarter that blend to the boot spoiler.

I’m just taking the guys word for it though so

It's definitely rough and you can see it's had some welding on the inner wings etc, but it does look about right in terms of the structure. Given the white engine bay, I wonder if it's an old motorsport shell or something. Still, if it was cheaper than a clean one, it doesn't really matter. I'd love one, but well and truly missed the boat now.

From what I remember he said it’s been in a crash and the right front got the brunt of it. That might explain the welding.

I'd go with it being a motorsport shell (hence the white) but it has had sunroof put in, or it might be the original roof skin. He probably made / re-shelled it when they were cheap.

Oh yeah, didn't notice the sunroof. Probably not a motorsport shell then, as fitting a sunroof seems a bit of a ballache. As you say, probably just made up from bits. Good way to own one in a way, as it means you can use it without having to be so precious!

It’s 100% a hodge podge of parts that one, he admitted that. He says he has a complete white one that is his “nice” Cossie.

I remember my mates mum getting a brand new Mk5 XR3i on a K reg, so that would have been late 92, in polaris grey. It was such a nice looking car.

the facelift mk5 was so ugly.

We had a non-turbo diesel one at work as a pool car back in the day. Can't remember if it was a 1.6 or 1.8 but it was unbelievably slow, plus it had the heaviest steering I've ever experienced.

It was that bad people would take one of the transit vans rather than drive the escort.
