My friends cosworth powered mk2 escort.

He bought it a good few years ago as a bare shell and has just about finished building it. It runs a forged yb with a gt30, should be mapped very soon at around 350bhp I believe! The best thing to me though is the DTA management, incorporating launch control, anti lag and traction control. Should make it useable power (it's obviously switchable though ;) ). Built at home without a cheque book, I love it!

I cannot wait to get a run out in it!

Other than the old Cosworths and historic Escorts, the fast Fords of today do very little for me!

The canary yellow Mk1 1.4 Fiesta I was taken to school in for most of my childhood,
felt like a bit of an embarrassment to me as a kid, when everyone else's parents had big engined saloons.

But looking back it was the coolest car my Mum has ever owned.

This isn't it, but it's exactly what it looked like.

There was a girl in my year called Jenny. Her mum had a beige mk1 fiesta, and right up until we were 16, her mum made her sit in the back, on a massive booster seat and drove her to/from school. Oh my days, the grief we used to give her!!

I can never understand what went through her mothers mind. Unless she hated her child?

LOL! Oh yeah, I forgot about that. My Dads mk2 Cortina (In daytona yellow, black vinyl roof and slot mags  ) Never had them so he bought a set from a shop and they were effectively just straps. The didn't recoil or anything. I'm sure they were more dangerous than not being in a belt at all! lol.

Christ, I forgot all about no seatbelts. We're showing our age Dave!!

Yep, back in the 80s as a kid,
if you fell out the car in the event of a crash, it was your own stupid fault. lol

Kids were tough back then,
if you really were injured someone might dab a bit of TCP on you if you were lucky.

Currently obsessed with Capri's, I think it's because i've got 'The Professionals' on series link.

I know most people like nice shiny mint cars, but I like filthy knackered rat looking cars.

Had it for years, and like all things it will never be finished.
Basic spec of it is escort/sapphire cosworth 4x4 running gear, xr4x4 mt75 gearbox (same as cosworth but with v6 bellhousing) Cosworth FB-BOA 24v V6, Avo coilovers and various other bits and pieces. All turned out to a high standard.

I love it, its super reliable mechanically, since 36,000 miles as a completed build its now done 140,000 miles and apart from a couple front shafts and teething problems at first its not put a foot wrong. And it makes 232bhp@fly with a really grunty delivery so doesnt go to badly either.

This is my other ford, and is the first car i ever owned.
I bought it when i was 16 and these pictures are all from when i was around 17 and had lightly restored it.

An old man died up the road and this was in his garage, he had owned it from new and it had done 22K. It had been serviced, MOTd and taxed every year and had all its history. I paid £900 lol.

Its now undergoing a total restoration and is a bare shell. When ive finished it i will post some pictures.
