The JDM Appreciation Thread...

^ you got any figures for the black rx7 at all mate ? 5 mpg, sod that !

750bhp ish, single turbo 1600 cc injectors etc lol, friend of mine had a similar one, tbh stick exhaust, intercooler and filter on a standard rx7 and your down to 15ish mpg lol!!! they are so much fun though... just not the easiest things to live with if ur tall lol.
That sounds mad, I love them !!

used to love the whole JDM thing, but i much prefer european cars now, like cars to look as subtly modified as possible, used to think it was boring but now think it looks really classy. Thats why im keeping the 172 standard looking, nice to have something fun, but you can still drive into work without exhausts bellowing, or intercoolers hanging out of your front bumper!

all a bit need for speed for me.

but, each to there own!

^^^^

That's awesome.

I think 100k miles before a tips/seals rebuild on an RX7 TT is bloody optimistic!

a) have you ever owned one?
b) do you know anyone that has?

if you answer yes to either then did you or they take care of it? with regualr oil changes and services they can last a long time, most will hit 70k+ before needing the tips and seals done... they have been ones hit 100k before requireing it, its not unheard of....

I've never owned one no. A guy I know well enough to say hello to owned one, a casual acquaintence, had one. One of my good mates knew him a lot better (worked together). He was the type of guy to through a car a year sort of thing. He had the RX7 when we were all like, 18/19 so we thought it was the coolest thing ever. Was on about 60k iirc, and it had Veilside bodykit and stuff - crap picture coming up -

It died one day on his way home and he was landed with a £3k bill to fix it from a specialist - no idea what that included - but he got rid of it very shortly afterwards.

they are pretty simple to rebuild, there is a set of dvd's you can buy that show you step by step how to do them, then its under 1k for parts... the engine is tiny when you get it out with the manifolds off...

as said if the oil level is good and you do regular services then its all good... they will last.

As you can see, I fixed the link heh. When he got it, it was standard looking, with standard wheels etc. Then it got that bodykit and those AWFUL wheels and that just ruined it for me tbh. It had a decent interior though too, all red leather and stuff, was nice to look at.

I was gonna say "That can't be on that euro civic thing" :) But I see someone else already said it.

I think an old Hakosuka Skyline might be the coolest car on earth...

Plenty in this thread... anyone agree?
