Nice one! I was first out there for nearly three months back in the summer of '95. The whole place really struck a chord with me - so much so that I've been back several times since.

The 2nd time I went in '98, I inadvertently timed it just right. I'd originally wanted to go in March, but the boss at work refused it as that was coming up to the end of the tax year and the busiest time for us as a business. He had no issue with me going in May instead, which worked out brilliantly. Nearly everything was starting to open up in time for the tourist season - yet hardly any tourists had arrived. It felt like the whole country was an amusement park pretty much to yourself - and cheap to boot (back then, anyway!)

So many memories of the place. Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Vancouver, Vancouver Island, the Inside Passage, Juneau, Skagway, Yellowknife, Dawson City, Alaska..... the list goes on.
I moved out here after quitting my job up in Canary Wharf on a bit of a whim.

You are totally correct when you talk about how 'the place struck a chord with you'. It's so far removed from what you can experience and feel in the UK, myself being a big outdoors-ey mountain person I can't see myself being anywhere else, visa permitting. From looking at your list of places you have seen more than I have so far but that is half the beauty of it here, almost endless amounted of exploration to be had.

What sort of work did you do that brought you over here back in the day?

Another idea is possibly selling the Integra and getting two cars. A cheaper run around for work etc. And then importing a lower grade ps13/s13/sil80 for life styling and Driftland/Pod/Matsuri runs.

All I am sure about is that I'm going to be spending lots of money 😂

@E11OOT Do you have a visa etc or did you just go over?

  A special one.
Yeah - they suit it. Really like the contrast between a white car and dark accessories on a car. I really could have gone to town with the VI if money wasn't an issue!
Yep bits (well performance bits) aren't that cheap.

I just about to buy a new clutch kit and flywheel. Ouch!!

I don't envy you for that. I said goodbye to £1.2k when I had the Evo's swapped out...
That's on par with the clutch for the Spec C tbh.

I could have gone for a cheaper clutch which would have saved about £300.

The silver one was complete madness, even had a central driving position, Mclaren F1-esque.

I'm not massively into this JDM scene but I'm always scouring the classified ads looking at EP3s as I want to try one.

Anyway I watch this vlogger Jamie FYD on YouTube and he went to this Japanese Performance Show

He's just bought an S13 too.

Some of his videos are alright.. Passes the time if your bored I suppose.

Yeah Jamie_FYD was there, I watch his stuff too and was having a good look at his Aristo (?) at the show. Pretty good vids, his and 6two1.

Can't decide if I like FD2's or not. Part of me thinks they look too big for an NA 2.0 engine. Also just seem to resemble a weird 5 door saloon version of a Civic with a load of Type R branded bits strapped to them to try and make it look special. Looks more like an Accord than a Civic really.

I do appreciate how good they are though, supposed to drive incredibly well. DC5 Teg for me though please.

There was a really good meet in Coventry over the weekend, the Japanese Performance show, was a good day out. Some unreal builds, and ridiculously clean motors, from Time Attack to stanced to completely original old school. Enjoy!
