well today was a right f*cking disaster....
Basically, now ive changed to acid yellow, i needed acid yellow wheel decals etc.......but i spent all last week finding somewhere that had a similar color, nowhere did, so i got a guy to print+laminate me some vinyl. This ended up being wayy out color wise too, and was running out of time to get them done.
so yesterday, i had the vinyl cut anyway, but didnt weed the excess off the sheet, and didnt put a top layer on. I decided to weed out the sticker itself, leaving the excess, to make a stencil so to speak. I would then stick this to the wheel, mask everything else up, and spray acid yellow, to get an acid yellow decal obviously.......
so went ahead doing this.....
this worked, which was great, dead pleased...
they both came out fine.......so they just needed a clear coat on over the top, over the whole wheel, which ive done loads of times, without a problem....until today
the laquer seemed to react with the wheel, i had shaken it for 5 mins, and warmed it up in warm water, as always, but it dried like this, 'cracked' effect
this has never happened on the wheels before, it did once on one of my dash strips, but ive no idea why.......im gutted to say the least, and ive got 3 more wheels to do......FFS.
on a good note, inbetween all that fu*cking around, managed to fit the new drivers foglight, and tidy a few other bits up. Also spent most of the afternoon SRP'ing the car.....only just managed to finish it with the fu*kups on the wheels etc......so no EGP or Wax yet
yes, the back has been raised, but it was only to test some springs....meh!
what a waste of a day
