The New Phone Thread

Watched this Jerryrig review of a phone that never was.

The tech is cool as f**k and I really enjoyed the teardown.

Then we have the Apple fold which looks utter w**k. That form factor is awful.

I'm looking to upgrade from an S22 Ultra 5G soon

I've been eyeing up the S26 Ultra 1TB mainly for the higher memory. But I've just come across the Xiaomi 17T Pro, anyone had one?

Ridiculous value that

Blue light card discounts are usually great if you know anyone in family with a card

I get the equivalent discount from my work portal, best I’ve managed to get is

£10 a month on three then £706 for the z fold 8.

am in the market for a new phone, a folding phone. currently got a samsung z fold 5, which i love.

i currently like the look of the honor magic v6, but would also consider a samsung again.

would love some kind of pay monthly plan, i know amazon do these.

anyone seen any good deals or got any good discount codes?

thanks in advance

My mum wants a new phone to replace her ageing Samsung A10, but everything is absolutely massive nowadays. Her phone has a 6.2" screen and it's too big to fit in her pockets most of the time, but every cheap phone seems to be 6.5" or 6.7".

Are there any options for ~£300 that have a 6.2" or less screen, that a 67 year old woman won't be horribly confused by?

Needs to be a smartphone with a half decent camera, I'm fed up of the low resultion blurry stuff she sends me on WhatsApp 🤣

I need a new android, nothing is taking my fancy at all. I want min 7500a battery.

Was looking at some of the one plus models and others but really needs to be something that will last as long as thing one has (4.5 years! S22 ultra)

Lmao what even is this? I was looking at Pixel 9As etc, this is like something out of a Kinder Egg 🤣

Why does the battery need to be that big?! 🤣🤣

Check out honor for big batteries

I just can't justify buying another phone with the same battery capacity. It's a sideways move.
The newer phones are a bit more effeciant though? Although saying that I went from an S24U to a Pixel 9 pro and the battery is worse 😂

I'm waiting for the S27 next year now, Don't think I'd have another Pixel, they just arn't that great ime and it has a couple super annoying flaws and glitches now and again which my old Samsung never did

As said though, they are a lot more efficient and last well. The better processors are what help

I wouldn't turn your nose up at one.
How long do you get out of current one now?

How much screen time are you using to need a screen with a powerbank attached to it 😅

I can have mine sat on my desk in work with the screen on all day with youtube podcasts playing, which can take my screen time total since last charge up to 8-9hrs and still have plenty % left.

A lot. I'm using it for work stuff now so using it way more.

I've charged it now at 4pm to get me to 100% by 4pm. Then will need charging again at 12 later. It's fucked but I'm not mad.

I just need a phone that can withstand my use. That's also fast as a c**t and 512gb storage, amazing camera etc.

Sounds like you need an S26 ultra then 👀
