The new tool thread

Been throwing my milwaukee mitre saw on the floor mostly when using it which is noooooot ideal so taken the plunge and ordered this

I have a dewalt table saw and stand and the quality is really decent so wanted this stand as I know the quality will be similar

Hopefully soon I'll be building something pretty exciting so this will become pretty invaluable

Both sides extend out to 2.4m according to the spec sheet so will be handy for longer bits of stuffs

As usual, went on the van for some replacement bits and a new pair of keys for my box,

Walked out with £200 worth of Ratchet spanners.... :)

Been after a set of these for ages, been making do with my halfords ones for many years bit had to have em!

Will do the job but it's not the latest stuff, nor is it brushless... If you're bothered about that.

This is the latest gear, but obviously near double the money.

My milwaukee impact and drill are the older non fuel.. No complaints.. If either tool isn't up to the job, you should be pre-drilling or using an sds..
Theres a dewalt 5ah brushless combi set on FFX tools for £250.

Or 4ah

The snap on spanners are mega. I need to invest in a set, as the open end actually works instead of slipping.

Sometimes things are so cheap you have to just buy them.

A 10" petrol chainsaw for £66, yes please...

Tool perverts, is this a decent impact ?
From taking the wheels off, changing lower arms, hub nuts, to removing subframe bolts ?

I was after a Dewalt 899 or 900, but this came on my radar, a bit cheaper than that also.

Just treated myself to a new jack. I've had a lightweight ali one for years but it's on it's last legs and was only a 1.25t thing, so struggled to lift anything of a decent size. I'd forgotten how heavy a decent sized jack can be, this thing is 37kg.

Halfords 3T low profile jack

I didn't pay that for it though.

Love me some Knipex.

Bought a pair of these cute little grips. Proper handy just to keep in holster pocket. Used them loads this week on Cat6a cable terminations.

Not strictly new tool but had issues with my snap on techangle torque wrench going off all the time when last used. Quite a common issue and i had repaired it myself a few years ago but something had happened inside the handle this time.

Sent it in to snap on via local distributor for repair and its come back with a full new updated handle to stop battery connection issues, looks like new display and recalibrated for £100+vat and 2 week turnaround. Basically as good as new, excellent service.

Cheers. What do you recommend for general tyre swap, none heavy duty work?

Was looking at the 892, 921.

Mine is dcf899p2. Fron a quick google they say the 899 has a bit more poke than them two. You will need the extra power for removing rusty studs or overtorqued bolts.

After being impressed by the quality of the mega pliers, I stopped at another Lidl on the way home to pick up what I originally wanted to get at the first one.

£30 biscuit jointer, mad value for money. Definitely not the best quality tool I’ve ever bought, but again, £30. Sure it’ll do the job just fine with some care when setting it up.

And my primary aim, £25 rivnut setting tool, and 100+ rivnuts. This feels really decent, box is nice too along with the storage for the rivnuts. Does M5 up to M12 so everything you’d need for most DIY jobs. Didn’t actually know how much it was when I went looking for one but at £25 it’s an absolute bargain and no wonder they were sold out in the first two stores.

Lovely haul that!
Riv nut guns are one of those things where once you have it and use it, you wonder how you lived without it before. Then sits on the shelf for 9 years or so.
