I guess my little 172 is coming to that difficult time in life (52reg) where it's not quite as young and shiney as it's fellow road mates, things are start to sag a little (particularly the exhaust), it seems to constantly develope new rattles and gains a dent or scratch every other day! I have it booked into my brothers garage next week for a service and already expecting to pay for 4 new tyres, pads, discs and the usual service parts. Today, 130 mile from home, the exhaust decided to give up on me whilst drivign down the M1 (just outside of sheffield). Since i didnt fancy the long trip home with a trailing exhaust i pulled into a small back street garage. The guy managed to get hold of the parts (middle and back exhaust) and fit them for £165 in just over two hours. Seems pretty reasonable price but i doubt its a decent exhaust.
The cars turning out like my missus... use to be a young, fit and eye-catching. She still aint bad to look at but shes no spring chicken anymore. Even tho she can still put a smile on my face now and then she seems to be burning a whole in my poket thesedays.
