Yes. Changed to hdmi now though and working ok. Would I benefit much from using display port instead?

Also, I was wondering why my 2TB sata m.2 SSD wasn’t showing up anywhere. After googling/YouTubing and remote help from a mate, the issue is with the m.2 slots on the board (did think it needed initialising in disk management, but it was nowhere to be seen, same in bios).

Only 1 slot supports both nvme and sata m.2, whilst the other only supports nvme. I must have them in the wrong way about (hopefully).
You wont get g-sync on HDMI. Gotta be display port. You'll max out at 60Hz on HDMI.

I watched this vid on how to setup after building it:

He did do a newer more up to date version but I think this is the better version.

🤣🤣🤣 just a laugh really isn’t it. They’ll be dimmed down most of the time when I sort it all out. Got a gaming score of 132% on userbenchmark so hopefully this will do me a while (until I buy another gpu)

You didn’t miss much lol.

So how do I bring across my progress on warzone to PC? I made a blizzard account and it’s given me a generic name/account.

You need to link your PSN and Blizzard accounts with your Activision account.

Have a quick google and it’ll come up with several different guides on how to do it.

Ok thanks. I had linked the account I was just confused as the new generic blizzard name was showing, until I realised that’s just the blizzard account, not cod, lol. So once I load up tomorrow all should hopefully be there on warzone.

Looking forward to seeing my k/d fall off a cliff for the next couple of months... 😂

That’s something which was better in the old days. Put in a disc. Play. Game saves stored locally etc.

Now you need 407 different game launchers from all the diffferent publishers. Steam, origin, uplay, battlelog, whatever the blizzard one is... leaves your program files & start menu folder in a right mess not to mention needing yet more passwords, more emails about updates to T&Cs or wanting the date of my first sneeze for 9 factor authentication.

you’ll be surprised! I went from PS4 on a 50” TV to mouse and keyboard on my pc on a 24” monitor and instantly got better. I find it a lot easier to control the recoil with a mouse.

This cpu seems to idle quite hot. Fluctuates from 40-53. Thought I’d maybe done something wrong, fucked up the paste etc but according to Reddit thermal paste barely makes a difference to these, they just tend to run hot 🤷🏼‍♂️

Also I thought I could alter fan speed on iCue, turns out you need a separate control box for that. So I’ll have to see if I can do it in bios as they are a bit loud.

My 2600 gets to 51⁰C maxxed out with a semi-reasonable overclock and thats when COD has been hammering its c**t in for hours and hours. Same with my GPU, gets to about 68⁰C

Check your fan settings in BIOS @Moonshot and does Nvidia experience have OC and fan settings?

What software is everyone using to dick with fan speeds? Pretty content with my little quiet build but I've gone down 1 fan with the new case and want to have a tweak.

Its a Gigabyte board and their free software for it is ok, but it has glitches for the case fans. One showing at 0rpm, the other will only either stop or be going 1200rpm lol.

Make sure your fans are PWM firstly. If they ain't PWM you won't be controlling anything.

As for how to control them? I have mine set in the bios. I have an Asus motherboard and it's called QFan control. I can set curves, set spin up delays and change what temp sensor to use as a measurement.

@bozothenutter you'd have been better waiting until tomorrow to see AMDs new 6800XT reviews before biting the bullet. It's already out there that the new Ryzen CPUs have overtaken Intel's equivalents in terms.of single.core performance. If you are still.within the 2 week return window I strongly suggest you at least return the 10900 CPU.

Also @Moonshot you should get yourself MSI afterburner for over locking the GPU. FTW3s are a very good overclocker.

Just Google "best overclock for 1080Ti FTW3". There are loads of recommended settings.

Yeah they're all PWM, I can control them fine with other software ive tried just the Gigabyte one is a bit shite.

I can set the curves, and they seem to work okay but its a bit hit and miss. In my old case I worked out it was where I plugged them into on the board, some of the PWM Fan headers were a bit ropey and some wernt.

I used Argus monitor for a bit, as a free trial, may go back to that as I had zero issues.

Have you installed the software for your AIO to check speeds and adjust fans?

I'm unsure how it works on Cooler Masters but some require the fan header to be set to 12V in the bios for the pump to run correctly.

I have the same cooler and on my mobo I have a pump header, could just use the CPU fan plug. You can't control pump speed on these so they just run flat out.

Mine is like 40 idle (3700x) or something stupid but doesn't really get above 65 when gaming.

Fan speeds I used the mobo software as that's the easiest way.

That's fair enough. I've only got 3 fan headers inc. the CPU one as mine's an iTX board.

I guess it makes Corsair seem quite good that you can set pump and fan speeds using Corsair Link, which then lets you save it to the pumps firmware so the software can be uninstalled once you're happy with it.

@Moonshot although this has never worked for me, you might have better luck. The cooler has a passthrough to the motherboard so you can control the RGB with the mobo software, if you can get it to work then it saves you another crappy third party program to download as the CM stuff isn't the best and it will be in sync with any mobo RGB you might have. With my MSI board you are supposed to be able to control almost all RGB from their software, but doesn't end up working like that.

If you search on YouTube for Cooler Master RGB and look at the gear seekers videos he explains it quite well.

Need some help or advice on my old PC where a family member has it now. It's a low ish spec pc and it's running Windows 7 still and my brother would like to have Windows 10 on it. When i was round the house while back and tried to download and install of their site it woldn't install.

Is it because it's an old spec pc or or am i missing something?

Thanks

As rojer said tbh

i actually watched that yesterday. The case/mobo reset bridge? I was looking for where it slots on the board but couldn’t find it!

Had a little play around this evening. Downloaded MSI Afterburner and MSI Dragon Centre. Whilst I have RDR2 downloading I wanted to whack the fans down a bit as they were a bit loud, so I’ve turned it from extreme performance preset to silent which obviously reduced noise. But I still hear a bit of a whine/buzz noise. The pump was cool but the gpu case was pretty hot, despite only being around 45-50 degrees on idle. Is it common for gpus to make a buzzing noise?
