Just done a test with my laptop, 3060 non Q, 1080p in a 2 car race at Cadwell with 4096 res reflections, all the fancy visual stuff such as raytracing and FSR on, 170fps.

Handles beam.ng no problem? Reason I ask about WZ is I'm really looking forward to BF2042 in a few months time. Trying to decide between going next gen or pc

I’ll have to get a new gpu for BF. I’m half tempted to get a 3070 for BF and then splash out on a 40 series in 12/18 months time.

Cant believe the price of 3080 Ti's now they are actually available to buy, more than I paid for my 3090!

The 3080 Trio X I pre-ordered at launch for £791 is now £1,299.... f**king retarded tbh.

I haven’t a fooking clue how to use the editor to make actual missions but it’s brilliant for setting up little skirmishes etc then trying not to die. The campaign’s pretty good.

Treated myself to a new monitor at the weekend. Gigabyte G34WQC, 34" 1440p ultrawide, 144hz.

Coming from a cheap 1080p, 60hz monitor, this must be what it's like for people who get glasses after not realising they needed them for so long. For WFH it's brilliant, and gaming is so good with the wider screen.

Safe to say though, I've definitely found the limits of my 1070 😂 still getting like 60-100fps on most games on their highest settings, but it's definitely starting to struggle now.

Paid 800 for mine (3080 X Trio), I think. Still got it...yours for just 1,450.

Joking aside there are a fair few 3070s/3060s dropping now.

After 9 odd years I'm trying to get back into some FPS games. I'm struggling with the keyboard WASD and then hitting the other buttons to jump/crouch.
Thinking of getting the Razer Tartarus V2 to help my old hands. Anyone use it?

I’ve not used one personally but I do know those are a lot easier to use.

I can’t believe I just paid £110 to buy Microsoft Flight Simulator so I could fly over my house to find that it’s apparently a factory. Ffs
They usually have game pass for 3 months on offer for a pound...

Accidentally bought a Rift S today. Wish I'd done it sooner.

Admittedly most of the stuff I play is sat down - Assetto and Flight Sim 2020 atm, but what an experience in both. Really cool. You forget that it's not just head tracking, but properly 3D too.

Okay so flying in VR is bloody epic. I can literally stand next to a T45 Goshawk, step into the cockpit and sit in the pilot's seat (my sim rig), look around the cockpit firing everything up, then taxi to the runway and take off, and when you're flying a fighter jet where you can look right out the canopy in all directions it's brilliant to loop, roll and fly like a real pilot would, always being able to keep your eyes on something while you fly around it. Flying through the Mach Loop is excellent, and then when you're done and you're coming in to land with the nose high you can sit up a bit and look over the nose as you land... I've barely even touched Assetto yet because the flying is so much fun. Not even a hint of sickness either.

Anyone know why the colour of certain mp4's would be messed up like this? I've tried VLC and PotPlayer. Got new codecs with PotPlayer. Didn't make a difference.

Other mp4's are fine. MKV's are fine

That was silly cheap compared to the rest of the market. There's no shortage of them, just the prices are still high. Can't help feeling it was mostly clickbait to get people to buy the "next cheapest" £1300 card they have in stock.

There was another deal even cheaper that came out a few mins after the above.

Availability on the LHR cards does seem to be improving, they're not really of much interest to miners unless they're very cheap or there's absolutely nothing else available so the LHR thing seems to be working at the moment. Prices still stupid though.

I've got a 2060 Super which I'm going to be throwing up on eBay soon out of a system I built, it was the best bang per buck available at the time as it's slightly quicker than a 3060 but also a bit cheaper. It's only a couple of months old but I was able to snag an upgrade recently so I'm looking to sell it on.

Any interest drop me a PM, looking for around £400.

Finally getting around to some upgrades now that (some) hardware is back to a sensible price.

I've got a Ryzen 5800X, Asus ROG STRIX B550-F, SN850 and 32GB ready to replace my aging i7-3770K, but I'm not sure about how Windows will deal with this.

I've currently got Windows 10 on a SATA SSD (Samsung 860 PRO) and would ideally like to move it across to the new SN850. So the questions are:

1. Will my Windows license carry across and reactivate if necessary or am I looking at a new license? For reference, this install was originally a Win7 Retail license that's been upgraded to 10 over the years in place.

2. As the C: partition on my SSD is just a basic partition (not GPT, not Dynamic), can I just use boggo drive cloning software to get it onto the SN850? I guess I can then convert in place to a GPT partition if that's recommended.

Just clonezilla your drive onto the new one whilst your pc still works and then you can just remove the other and set the boot option in BIOS

It should carry your license across

Excellent, that was the plan!

I've never had/used an M2 / NVMe drive before. Does that have an impact on what I do in Clonezilla, or is it simply pick a source drive, pick a destination drive and crack on?

Aye just a source drive and destination mate. Grab a USB stick and bang Clonezilla on it

I know it goes without saying for sane people but please ensure you have a backup before doing this 😂 If you need a shitty drive to back up to drop me a pm

Thanks for the offer but I've always been a good boy with backups. Between Onedrive, my DS414 and a Drobo 5N off-site, my precious collection of VHS quality Simpsons, a three year out of date BTC blockchain, and 925TB of p**n should be safe.

You can expect to hear back from me when I try all this on Friday and somehow manage to image the blank drive onto my original.
