The Power PC Thread [f*ck off consoles]

Yeah that's kicked off again. And yeah, people are tight arses. That deal is for a week only, and the SOC Champion is a reverse engineered (of ASUS' OC Socket) pile of turd

Not the smartest stick in the box if he's comparing a normally 200 quid board to a 400 quid board

Yeah. He took it to heart when I asked why lol. Because I knew it was a good price, so wanted to try and call him out on being a moth wallet. After all, he was interested initially.

We need a load of us to grab Battlegrounds so we can squad up. Only got two mates who'd play it. One refuses to buy it yet, the other I don't want to play with because he's a whiner lol. Just want to have a laugh

lol, taking me for all I'm worth - it's like a bad divorce

Seriously though, wait for the FOVE, or gen 2 something else. Rift is old news. Dat screen door. It's a good price, though

Just read a review are the new Intel quad cores.. seems like they don't outperform the older Kaby Lake ones. Oops.

  SLK 350
Oculus Rift + Touch controller is down to £399... mmmm

I bought one of these, ended up complaining to Amazon last night about some store credit offer they had listed (it expired in June, but they still listed it), told them I was sending it back as I was after the credit, gave me £80 in gift cards to shut me up.

It's great tech though, was playing the ISS stuff last night, nearly lost my balance a few times, it really messes with your senses.

Built a new PC this year for the first time in like a decade, really enjoying getting back in to PC gaming, it's moved on a lot! Partly got in to it as my mate showed me Star Citizen... immediately went shopping!

Ryzen 1700
Asus Crosshair 6 Hero
EVGA 1080TI Black
16GB G.Skill 4266 DDR
Samsung 960 Evo 500GB
XF270HU (formerly had a Fury in the build but sold it, might look at Vega for freesync)

Runs everything like a dream and if great for editing my video from my Phantom etc.

Yeah Ryzen is a great buy at the minute. Wouldn't have said so 2 months ago, but it holds up well now. I'm a memory man, though - and the IMC is pretty naff :D

Welcome back to The Master Race. Where sense, money and reason go out the window. But smugness is rewarded by the bucketload......

So Threadripper prices out.. going to get one @SharkyUK ?
LOL! No mate, I'm an Intel and nVidia guy. Loving AMD's new attack on the CPU market though. Fair play, Ryzen offers a great range from budget to enthusiast level at prices that are much cheaper than Intel equivalents. The performance isn't too bad either... It's about time Intel had some competition to hopefully 'encourage' them to bring down their prices and to kick them into developing something a little more innovative.

EDIT: Unless @Silent_Scone buys one first and then sells it to me...

Anyone look on ebay @ 2nd hand gaming PCs? Just need the PC itself, £6-£800 budget, prefer new but aware more can be had with a use build.

If anyone sees anything that looks good for the money please let me know.

Intellimouse 3.0. Not the original but not bad still. Used to annoy the hell of out me playing counterstrike. Had scroll bound to jump for bhopping and it has a tendency to stick half way between a scroll and then right in the middle of a defuse decide to unstick and lose the round for you.

What a superb monitor the X34A is. Seriously impressed with it!

I can't bloody wait... to see what @Silent_Scone will sell me next! :tongueout:
Looking forward to trying a curved monitor with games. That one looks massive - lol. :)

:p The mouse and keyboard are the oldest components in my setup. I bought them together... back around 1999!!!! They are like a comfortable pair of slippers that I just cannot bear to throw away. The mouse and many keys actually have 'grooves' where usage has worn down the plastic. I will upgrade one day. Maybe. With regards the sticky scroll wheel... yep, this has that very issue although it only started a couple of years ago.

I don't think I could go back to flat now as I prefer the more immersive nature of the curved screen. I've been spoilt as these monitors are such an improvement on those of recent years. Highly recommended!

lol, you really hate that car :D. I did look at them before buying the Evo. Black DSG one with low miles, just couldn't bring myself to A. buy a black car, B. buy one with a silly gearbox
