The Replacement.

  '55 CUP 182
Well,

I sold the clio today, got a tidy grand total of £1150, So I went down to the local reg-vardy dealership where I had seen the car I wanted sitting on the forecourt. Put the deposit down and am going to pick her up on Friday.

Very happy to say I am now the owner of a CUP182, 12k on the clock FRSH and she is immaculate! I really cant wait, im like a kid now.

Here is a pic I took off of the dealer website earlier today.

Nice one mate.

Enjoy! Looks spot on.

I went from a 1.4 RT to a 1.6 16v VTS Saxo to a 172.

Both the 172 and VTS are similar performance so going from a 1.4 to VTS/172 is a big jump. Top fun but be careful!

Cheers, The 1.4RT is quite nippy but really is nothing when compared to a 182, I can see hours and hours of cautious driving ahead :)

Think you'll notice a fair drop in MPG too!

I only ever put Optimax (or superplus) as they're meant to run on 98 RON fuel. Currently 101.9p/litre. I get about 280-290 miles from £37 per week.

I drive it like an old fart too which kinda defeats the object. I get about 28mpg driving hardish, 34 driving careful.

Be prepared to spend a load on fuel on the first few weeks of ownership as you'll want to take it out all the time and the gauge goes down so quick.

I was told by the dealership that it has been run on optimax since new by the previous owner, My pockets should been just deep enough to keep her and me happy at the same time!

The missus will just have to wait her turn!

It not going to do any damage running the engine on 95, 98 is only reccomended, otherwise it would say 98 only. Still can't be a bad thing.

enjoy it mate, i was going to get that colour, but it wasn't the cup version so it had the normal clio seats etc so i went for a silver one from the same dealer with all the extra bits i wanted! looks lovely though mate, real eye catcher!!

have fun!!

Why has this been moved to media? It's only one pic to illustrate a discussion on a Clio.

I agree with Dan, the pic looks like it's been taken indoors and photoshopped outside. The reflections on the car look like the showroom. Not that it matters.

  Mk1 Ph2 1.4 RT !FOR SALE!
Look at the reflections on the car; its been taken indoors then shopped into the outdoor scene lol

Hey guys,

Never really noticed the shadows and reflections on that pic, does look a tad odd. Any idea why they would do that sort of thing? Picture came from the dealers website and the page has now gone (yay i really do own it!).

Also I need a set of subframes for it now (that I forgot to order) to fit the new seats, anyone know where I can get a set? They need to be slide and tilt obviously.

One more thing, the washer jets in the front bumper are the horrible plastic ones, Im sure i saw on here somewhere you can get metal ones to match the paintwork, any advice on that?

Oh and one more :) for barley182, yes it is a cup and the damage was £8995 with £1000 deposit on the day, like I said though the missus is just going to have to wait for her new pony.

Demon tweaks, but phone them rather than ordering them over the net as they will get them sent striaght from the Corbeau factory and the wait time will be reduced.

I have a spare drivers subframe but it is only slide not tilt.

  '55 CUP 182
Well I just ordered the subframes and they should arrive friday according to demon-tweaks, £62.40 inc vat so not bad :).

You haven't got washer jets.

The Cups don't have them. They have black plastic blanking plates covering the holes where the jets would go. You could possibly get them colour coded.

  '55 CUP 182
Ah! knew there was something sus about them, is it possible to colour match or can I buy the paint directly from renault?

2 days to go!!

  '55 CUP 182
Right, just been through the K-tec website and put a shopping list for the next 2 months together. Here it is:

ECU Re-map £250.00 +vat

Pipercross carbon induction kit £210.00 +vat

Magnecor ignition leads £54.00 +vat

Silicone coolant hoses £198.00 +vat

Carbon fiber engine cover £99.00 +vat

KTR high-flow 2.5" 182 S/S exhaust system £295.00 +vat

De-cat pipe £85.00 +vat

Clear side repeaters £23.00+vat (PURCHASED)

Carbon fiber splitter £89.00 +vat

Hyper mirrors colour matched £85.00 +vat

GAZ coilover suspention kit £445.00 +vat

Short throw quickshift gearleaver £155.00 +vat

TOYO T1-R TYRES x4 £116.00 +vat

Corbeau carrera recliner buckets + harness' (RED) £365.00 +vat (PURCHASED)

Demon-Tweaks seat subframes £51.48 +vat (PURCHASED)

Running total: £2520.48 (Ouch!)

Also I had to phone up and change my subframes as the bucket seats and harness' turned up today and the seats I ordered are acctually the ones with the tilting backs anyway!

So im looking at about two months to get all this together and in the car aswell as eating into my savings at the same time :( Anyone know a good renault specialist I can take the car to and have most of this fitted, I would rather have it all professionaly done than half bodge it myself.

  ex Clio 172 owner :(
Mate, woah woah woah.

If I were you, I'd actually get the car first, have a bit of a play with it, get used to it, THEN see what you think about mods. Don't let cash burn a hole in your pocket. That list looks like a kid's Christmas list to Santa!

I'd stick to performance mods and leave the car standard externally. The 182 looks good enough. Forget the mirrors and the splitter. You've already got a splitter and the K-TEC one is identical bar it being carbon-look. Hardly noticable. PLUS, the car has already got clear side repeaters!!

As for the tyres, IF they need replacing, stick with the manafacturer's recommended ones - Micheline Pilot Exalto. Or go for Goodyear Eagle F1-GSD3. There was a tyre poll on this site recently, those two came on top by a mile.

  '55 CUP 182
Well, Im aware it comes with clear side repeaters, however i have a set sat here with the silver bulbs that will go on the car hence why it already says brought. I know that the list is long and full of external mods. But as always with me the mods that will get done first are the preformance ones anyway, such as suspention, remap, exhausts, decat ect. It's the same with every car I have had in the past.

As for the tyres, my last 2 cars have had nothing but T1-R rubber on them and I think its all down to personal chooice with tyres really, I love the grip the T1-R's give you and the ability to have a play with the rear end aswell.

Well I guess I will have to see how it goes, oh and one thing I forgot to put on the list is a set of cliosport stickers for the rear windows!
