The things I learned this week

  Renault Laguna Coupe

My car was in the garage for a little pampering this week - heres what I learned, just in case its of any help....

CLONK as you pull off, and sometimes when changing into second: Its the gearbox mounting under the battery. Just needs tightening.

External temperature sensor - if it goes faulty itll need replacing but it will also completely screw the Climate Control, which seems to use the outside temperature as one of its parameters.

And my mod for this week - rear strut-brace - really seems to make a difference to the way the car feels! Need to try it on a track :D

It will be a disappointment on track, by stiffening the rear and leaving the front youve completely upset the balance of the car.

Is the mount something I could do myself? I cant be bothered to book it in especially. Not until I hit about 4k miles and I need get the oil changed.

To be honest under hard cornering to the right the knock is starting to get on my nerves.

I was told the same when my temperature sensor went before the car was two weeks old!!!

Ill have the screwdriver out over the weekend to tighten the trim where air is blown onto the windscreen. Its vibrating most the time

Youll need to get the battery out to do the mount Rod, not sure how difficult it is though. My dealer didnt make a big deal out of it. That knock does get bl00dy infuriating doesnt it!

I expect its one of those things that looks easy, but due to the lack of space to work is probably a bit of a mare.

Ill have a look see how I get on.

Thanks.
