The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PC, XBOX ONE, PS4)

That is great timing as I had only just started another playthrough. Might as well get into this for winter!

Also, a DLC release twelve years after initial is pretty insane.

Oh - here we go... I'm going to lose 250 hours of my life again.

Remastered, improved combat, improved traversal, upgraded graphics, and a billion other bits... this could be even more epic-erer with the improved combat and traversal.

And then another goodness knows how many hours lost in this...

Witcher 3 new DLC

Im looking forward to downloading it, checking what frame rate I get, then never playing it again. Same as I did with the original and the last time they remastered it.

Not even joking, I love benchmarking stuff and this game always looks great 🤣

Probably some background things, lore references and old relationships that you might not get but I never played any other games in the series, read a synopsis beforehand and had a great time.

Easily the best £2.99 I’ve spent. Was on sale inc DLC’s about five years ago and bought it on a whim. My wife, who’s never played a game, has played through it 3 times 😂

Decent marketing strategy actually:

- Release update for free, iron movement/combat bugs out
- get people hooked again in time for the paid DLC next year
- which gets people more hyped for the sequel in 2028

Having to defeat Detlaff again…

I got this a while back, can’t remember how much I got for it. Played it for an hour or so. How long will it take to get use to the controls and buttons. Need a new single player game to get into

I haven’t been properly playing games consistently for years and I managed it.

If it’s been ages then it might be worth starting over and fully committing to it, it’s such a brilliant game.

I’ve amassed a pile of exceptional (but old) games to play as I’ve just not had the time in life to do so until now, just finished the remaster of Red dead redemption this evening.

Yeah , think I’ve seen you on my list on RDR1, not played 1 just 2. As you say need to commit to the Witcher and get use to it. A lot of you saying this is a great game

Definitely interested to see what they do with the combat revamp in this. I'm probably one of the few who thinks the 3rd person view in W3 is one of its biggest weaknesses. It's like your brain, the visuals in front of you, the inputs and the camera view are all battling each other to flow smoothly. When there are plenty of enemies, it gets messy, and not in a good way.

I think a number of the Batman games and the LOTR franchise have done 3rd person view combat, much better than W3. The over-the-shoulder view of ones like Warframe run absolute rings around it in terms of response and accuracy too.

I don't really like button mashing games, and it's been a good while since i played this, but i don't remember it being too complicated, it's take little but of getting used to, and remembering to use things like blade oils to make your sword better etc, i have always been a stealthy gun/sniper player on games, but i really really enjoyed this.

Wait until you have the pleasure of playing Gwent.... it's such a good way to lose hours of your life you can never get back...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Aye that’s me 🤣
My Witcher save game is on my Series X, currently back playing the PS5 Pro for the foreseeable.

If I’m in the mood, might pop in this tomorrow get some practice in. Think I may of already said this but what things do I need to do early in the game to get a good start or just crack on with the story

If you are interested in achievements and 100%...

Make sure you do the scholarly scholar or "scholar" in the White Orchard tavern during the start/prologue. It can be missed if you finish the main objective and leave the area before playing him in Gwent. You need to play and beat him.

Yes this is important, luckily for you @Geddes Gwent is a game of skill, no luck involved what so ever... :ROFLMAO:
