I got my One X on release and not even used the disk tray yet. I've been meaning to get around to testing it though actually just to make sure it even works.

Surely no-one actually uses a physical disc to watch anything??!

4K disc is the best way to watch content/movies. Particularly for the best audio experience. No point in buying a nice 4K TV and surround system then cheaping out on a downloaded movie.

Just picked up an xbox one s. So small compared to the original! But... it seems to have a constant loud buzz. Is this normal? Does anyone else have it?

I've read it's the fan and you can feel the fan if you put your hand above it. I'd understand if it had been on for hours but it does it straight after turning on!

I have an X - it’s silent.

Brother in law has an S and it’s very quiet. Odd that your fan is buzzing. If it’s still under warranty maybe contact Microsoft and see if they can perhaps service it? I would.

That is pretty bad. I though the clicking and squeaking was bad from our S, nothing compared to that. Our X on the other hand is virtually silent.

Brand new batteries. Has taken a good old beating over the years I expect, Curtains were closed and overnight so not direct sunlight, Also no marks around where it was so doesn't look like it was a sudden heat thing. I would guess more of a constant hot that just melted it.

All very strange.

With my kids, then yes. Anything is a possibility. Although, the one still there is int he right way.

I’m pretty sure in their wisdom they had you putting both batteries in the same way unlike anything else with batteries where they are the opposite polarities so that may be the cause of problem.

I've informed them that my partner has currently made me move all Microsoft designed products outside as she is worried of fire risk. Originally I put them in the rabbit hutch to keep them dry but she has got wind of this and said that I can not put the rabbits life in danger like that.

I understand that, I've give them everything I have. It happened a few weeks ago and I just contacted them out of curiosity really. Would like to know what their findings are. I can see no burn marks on the controller at all, just melting, would look like a heat inside probably from the batteries.
