Having a chat with a mate who has "the best car in the world" the Civic Type R, saying how good they r etc..... kills the clio, and i made the coment, "u find a car that chages direction better than a clio in control, then come back to me"

His response, "as if, me and my mate will kill you, want a race round the track"

ffs shut up! Its a bread van which is fast in a straight line ill give it that! show it some corners standard it will get all shy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

probably not much in them at all in everyday "racing". but having been in one it didnt feel anywhere near as good on the corners as the 172 (mk1 i tested)

ctr the best car in world! coming from a cup owner haha

there over rated but they do go well but he cant say he will kill u, the 172 cup wont be easy at all for him to beat!! i killed one in my escort rs turbo but round the twisties they would be better than a escort!! but i think the clio would give it a very hard run! go for it have a race......show him that mailto:CTR@S">CTR S arnt everything!

Ive driven both cars. The CTR left me cold (always has). Quick but basically dull, with steering that made me worry, not smile. I know which car Id rather drive, and its sitting outside my house right now.

Me to!!! :D Still loving yours yeh?

Well Ive only had it since 3pm but yes :D

The CTR is a nice car, the engine and transmission are far better engineered than the Clio, but I still feel cold when I get out of one. Theres no emotion, or connection with the road. I do find that almost all CTR owners think they own the bestest fastest car ever, and its sometime quite sad.

The induction and exhaust note of a Clio 182 on-cam, besides its insane handling, is enough to smoke any CTR when it comes to pure thrills.

Ha Ha i like u lol! :D

If the CTR had the character of the Clio, it would be a devastating machine. As it stands, its a drag strip car with superb engine and one of the best gearboxes around.

Put it this way...

When I first drove a CTR I thought, bloody hell that engine rocks...sweet gearshift but WTF? I cant feel the road. WTF this doesnt actually feel very rewarding.

When I first drove a 182, I thought f**k ME WITH THE BRUSH END OF A BROOMSTICK, this thing is a road eating tool of destruction.

ctr reminds me of a shark!!lol witch isnt a bad thing as they are quit intimidating but there not all that and the clio is more subtle looking but nicer IMO

roy munson- luv the inferno:D

  172 cup,s2 rs turbo

my mates ctr didnt kick mines arse in fact at lower revs mine had more grunt. about the same when they were both in the high revs though

which was fastest around top gear track?

oh i prefer the ctr hehe ;)

they must be fastest fwd cars there? oh no hang on!

(LSD anyone)??

both great cars, ive driven both extensively and they are very similar in terms of performance and handling ability but very different in delivery and the drive/feedback they deliver.

I found the lack of down low power/torque in the type r a tad annoying however once its going its very good but totally different drive to a 172.

I looked in the window of a Type R once.....

The interior looked pretty crap...not as good as the 182s....
