Ive had my clio 172 cup now for 7 months.
If buying again i DEFO would !! however heres a few things i would make sure were fixed/100% tip top before i purchased:
Exhaust make sure its 100% - they say if it is rattling they will fix it, they fix it for a few months then it does it again, get them to get a new one - i went back to renault 3 times and complained, once waited 5 hours in the waiting room for them to weld it back - still rattling so i had to get a full stainless prospeedexhausts.co.uk
Coil pack - bit of a lumpy idle and acceleration i took it in, this could have been spark plugs OR the coil pack - clever c**ts at renault said when we replace coil packs we always put in new spark plugs,,,, i was in a tricky situation, i should have said no use the old ones, i paid 70+ quid for spark plugs, they replaced the coil pack - problem is now GONE - however who paid for it ?? i hope it was the coil pack !!
Steering wheel - mine was okish when i bought it, seen better days now after 7 months, see if they will throw you on a new one if its gash.
Get them to put a 12 month MOT on then !! i had 3 months left on my mot they said let this run out and bring it back and we will put another one on for free,,, now the rear brakes were LOW when i bought it and it would not have passed an MOT - so i took it back 3 months later and they wanted 200+ for new rear disks i moaned at them saying this is not on ! they were like this when i wanted the MOT when i bought it - they did not replace them - however it passed the MOT !!
There only out to make money, they dont give a toss about you, so make sure you put your foot down, its a buyers market for 172's now so you can afford to be picy, they can afford to be generous with you !
