Think I have found the fault

I have had a problem with dodgy idling where it bounces upand down from 400 to 900rpm

few things have been changed but still very intermittent.

Was having a poke round the engine bay of the 2001 1.2 16v engine and noticed that the black metal box behind the engine itself was loose as hell, ECU i take it?

Well after looking even closer noticed that the wiring going into one of the sides of it was rubbing againts the metal, to a point where you can acctually see the metal in the wire.

Rekon thats causing dodgy idling? also how would i safely take it out so i can rap some elecy tape around the bare wires?

cheers guys.

yep, common as dog shyte see it loads.
i tend to pull the metal cover off and leave it off to prevent it happening again.
