Think someone’s got it in for my 182

So, after it was keyed on Saturday night, I came down this morning and someones poured black stuff all down the back and over the numberplate. It wasnt oil, Coke, coffee, tar or paint - I dont know what it was .

I got some of it off with water, but the rest will need shampooing. The car was also covered with what I hope was bird sh*t which I had to wash off.

Im now terrified its going to be really badly vandalised because someone down my road is obviously a jealous b*****d.

From now on Im going to hide it down other roads, and at weekends Im going to swap cars with my mum (shes got a Fiesta).

I hate this so much..

Definitely criminal damage and you should report it to the police. The keying I could put down to some drunken c**t. The above involves malice a fore thought. You need an evidence trail.

Was it parked in a similar spot to last time? Any "my space" crap in your street?

If you are going to set up a camera, you must do these 3 things:

Inform your local cop shop you are going to do it.

Display a very small sign in your window stating that cctv is in operation.

Make sure the camera view does not take in anyone elses property.

This will keep YOU on the right side of the law.

A mate of mines car got ran into by some p*sshead (we think) outside our house and our neighbour had CCTV pointing directly to the spot. Ask me if anything was done?

No, it was parked down the other end of the road (but on the same side).

The parking problems have escalated recently with people parking for two a lot, and I did have a disagreement with someone two weeks ago, but it ended quite amicably, and as I know where they live I doubt it was them. Im not sure though, it could be.

I cant set up a camera because a) I live too high up and b) Im never parked in the same place.

All I can do is stop parking in the road and go a few streets away. None of my cars have ever been touched before, its just horrible.

The good news is, the black stuff has washed off, but whats going to be next, paint stripper? *cries*

I would tell the police, but theres nothing they can do.

Do what I did and get CCTV. Doesnt stop crimes as all the vandalism I have seen has been done by pissheads that didnt know the camera was on them. What it does do is show you who is doing i.e. a neighbour or just some c***s walking back from the pub drunk. Will set your mind at rest as to whether you are being targetted or just unlucky.

You want a security light for £30 to illuminate the scene, a cheap VCR for £40, a ten pack of 4 hour tapes for £10 (use on long play) and a wireless black and white CCTV camera for £70. You put the tapes on at 8pm and they cover you to 4am.

Obviously you could get a second VCR for less or whatever and a wired camera is cheaper but harder to install. Black and white ones see better in the dark in the dawn/dusk when the security light doesnt come on.

Unfortunately though if you do catch something on film the police wont give a sh1t and wont want to see it as a vandals dont break the speed limit when they run away.

I park on the street, and a lot of the time cant even park in my road, and even if I can, the car is rarely visible from my window so it would be useless.

As I said, Im going to hide it in another street (doubt theyll bother to go looking for it) and use my mums car at weekends from now on.

It just sucks.

this would be my worst nightmare, i feel so sorry for you. To have something spoilt by some jealous c*nt just aint cricket. I would try and set up a webcam/cctv as seems like its a regular occurance.

I suppose you could try parking elsewhere but why should you? Inform the police as well if you havent already regardless if they dont seem interested as at least you have done what you can. Then when the police ask why you have smashed the worthless pricks face in, you then have a reason, albeit an unlawful one.

they will get what is coming to them eventually, it just might take longer than you would like...
