If I had the money I would, I love vee's and would love to leap at the chance. My no. 1 car!!
i sold my flame red 172 which I loved in favour of my LY, don't get me wrong I love the LY but I would also love my 172 :(

It's simple. If you've got the space to store the Vee - SORN it. Don't get shut because you 'feel' you have to.

Of course, if you've nowhere to keep it in storage, then that's a more practical problem and you should consider selling up.

How do you get on with the 182 and the wee one?

Got a Ford Focus TDCi estate for the day to day. However, it was actually pretty easy to get her in and out by sitting on the back of the folded down front seat. She now loves sitting up front...."faster Daddy, faster" etc....

I've often had the thoughts of whether I should sell my 225. It's hardly been used and will probably not see many miles in the future either. Much like your V6, I enjoy detailing and preserving the car as much as driving it.

What you have to look at is how badly you need the money and if what it would pay for means more to you than the car itself.

The way I looked at it was that I'd struggle to get more than £6k for my Megane even with the mileage so unless I desperately needed the money, I'm hanging onto it. I have off road, dry storage so it only costs me the insurance when it's sitting there.

Nothing wrong with having expensive taste haha. We've just had our house converted from a 2 bedroom bungalow to a 4 bedroom house and refitted our kitchen/dining room. I considered the car to be separate to the housing fund so unless you really have to don't sell up, you'll regret it.

Straight swap for a Sunflower? ;)

This feeling will probably only get stronger, as mentioned. I've had it with each of my cars and certainly regretted selling some, even though I wanted a different car.
I think you should get another sought after RenaultSport and clean the crap out of it, leave it in a garage and only bring it outside twice a year to shows. Or get a 200 and make it epic.

The ph1's don't appeal to me at all. nothing wrong with them I just prefer the mk2.

I do have a garage, the only reason I sold my flat was to garage the vee. How ironic! lol

I've spoken to the bf, he's not having any of it.

Don't get rid of it, you'll regret it sooooo much, I wish I had my flame red 172 still (still love my LY though)

God dam it! :banghead: At the age of 18 I could only dream of owning a super special mirror'd vee

Guess the DCI will have to do lol

Dawn you cannot get rid of it. Makes me cringe to see someone else not even on this form buy it and Thrape the bollox off it.
OCD clean owners get it hard when times come to sell up and move on :(

Hmmm, tough call this one Dawn. Although (as Luke said) I think the fact you have even contemplated it means it will eventually be sold, just a matter of time. I can't fault you, I had a car I absolutely adored 3 years ago, but I sold it to get my flat and I don't regret it one bit. I'll have another one when the timing is right.

I think you need to weigh up how much actual enjoyment you get from it now, versus your kitchen requirements! Equally, how much longer it may take to sort the kitchen. If its only a few more months saving to get a 'mediocre' kitchen then keep the vee, if its a few years or you can't live without some 'ideal homes' type kitchen then i'd be selling it and sorting my kitchen out.
