Right well as some of you know I had a new engine dropped in my 182. I would have done it myself
1. I dont have the tools and
2. I need the car 1 one piece working etc..
Anyway thats not important what will make you smile is the fact that when I got the car back there was the following problems
1. He had overfilled the oil by about a litre.
2. Coolant wasnt filled enough, overheated on my very short drive home (ovi forgot to run the car to open the thermostat)
3. Gearbox only had about 2 litres of fluid in it.
4. PS fluid was overfilled.
And as if that wasnt enough the bonnet seals not there. To be far I only paid £250 for the lot which is bloody good, But you dont expect someone who has been doing this all his life (20 years or so) to screw all that up.
Luckily for me Im pretty good with cars and it was my intention to change all the fluids when I got it back anyway. I changed the coolant + Gear oil sorted out the engine oil and various other bits and bobs.
I'm going to see him on monday mainly because I want my seal back but I will have a word.
My advice to everyone is dont trust back street garages or learn to do the work yourself. I'm seriously worried this engines gunna just drop out or something!!
I would have been mighty pissed if I was an idiot and didnt check these things though!
Any other work that needs doing I'll do myself thankyou.
Anyway hope this wasnt a waste of 60 seconds of your life.
