Throttle Body Help...

Hi there Was just wondering could anyone post me instructions on how to remove and refit the throttle body on a 1.4 2001 with a k&n induction not a std air box clio please i made a very silly mistake of running very low on petrol last couple of weeks :quiet: and now my revs keep dieing !! almost stalling
please help

by running low on petrol how does that effect the throttle Body ? oh crap mine was going low every time but now its always above 1/4

becasue your putting all the dirty stuff out the bottom of the tank through it .....
Its been on other posts searched under stalling and everyone seems to of been able to fix it cleaning the throttle body so was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to get it off

Doubt the body is at fault if it only started after you ran it very low. How low is very low? Its possible you've clogged the fuel filter but it won't affect the body.

prob about 20 miles left in it as the digital screen stops at 35 miles left...
basically it starts revs its self a little like rather than being at 800 it goes to 1100 then goes down then drive a little and drops to 500 then goes back up ????

Hasn't got one. Could be a shot body, they do play up so you can try removing it and cleaning it.

Did it only start doing it after you ran it down to dregs?

air is the only thing that passes through the throttle body. so its not because uve run low on petrol. the petrol is injected. its a seperate system all to gether

yeah started a few days ago ... got the feeling it might of been the same as this persons problem and another person with the same problem in a 1.2 ????and they both sorted it cleaning the throttle body ??

yeh probably is dirt in the throttle body. jst saying it wouldnt have been directly linked with running low on petrol. its dead easy, remove your air filter then a few screws to get the body off and unplug/disconnect the accelerator control

cool ok then will try it on sunday ..only day off hopefully it aint raining lol !! as long as its simple to do as dont have much skill with this stuff lol
so if i just take my k&n of then work from there ?

its all prety mch the same. do you know what the throttle body is? its jst a few bolts hold it on. yet take off ur air filer then the body

to be honest havent looked but im sure i will be able to find it i take it its what my air filter is slipped onto

no i dont kno what a throttle body is
on a 1.2 its weird tho
as you can see in the pic remove the cone, and the base plate for the k&n and there's no bolts if remeber

Its a mare on a Ph2 D4F the throttle body is underneath the inlet plenham.

k will start in the morning just going to take it off and give it a good wipe i dont need no special cleaning stuff do i ?? just normal kitchen roll lol ???

I would change the fuel filter as well and also do an injectors clean. The throtle body clean will help too but I am more towards the first two options

went to clean the throttle body out yesterday to find out that my negitive cable was loose on the battery so tightend it up and the car worked fine ... very weird .... came home today from work and it started fine not stalling and all that but still when i come up to a stand still i apply the clutch and the revs drop then build them selvs back up ???? very confusing and i am totally lost now ?? any ideas ??

still doing the revs thing also have stuff all over my power steering bottle in the engine and my outside temp gauge now thinks its 30degrees all the time lol ...

Ok just cleaned my throttle body out .. but ..... there was oiliy stuff onthe side facing the engine as shown in the pic but cleaned it off and cleaned the remains from the engine block of.. any ideas on what could be wrong for there to be oil there ????
