Thumbgrips replaced :)

Car  172 Cup
As with most RS Clio's, my thumbgrips were starting to peel away.

I read Kevin.s's project thread and saw he'd made some fibreglass replacements that looked really good.

So he made me a set and after a lot of sanding, swearing and frustration (on my part, Kevin did a great job of making them)...theyre now finally on.

So...I started with these, quickly delivered by kevin

I think they finish the interior off a treat and should have come like this from the factory.

There's a few gaps here and there but otherwise I'm real happy.

A huge thanks to kevin.s who sorted me out with them and gave me lots of great advice when it came to fitting them, answering all my PM's as much as it must have annoyed him lol. Much appreciated

Hope you all like them

Thanks Kevin. Lol yes you were right they did fit ok in the end. I'm very happy with how the paint turned out.
Gave them a couple of coats primer, 3 coats of the blue and a very light lacquer.

They suit it well I think. Done a good job on them.

thanks mate :).
I'm proud lol

Looks good mate, glad it worked out :)

Cant tell in the pictures, but did you get the matte finish you wanted?

Hi mate.
Its not ended up quite as matt as the original blue bits but its not far off.
Just gave them a light dusting of lacquer to give it a little protection

Cheers for the comment

Cant make my mind up on the colour, fit looks spot on tho!

Its meant to be a match for the blue interior trim, its actually mondial blue as you can see. Its not too far off, I'm happy.

Black would have been dull lol

Really like that mate, looks like a really good finish too!

You're right, should have come from the factory like that, makes it look a bit more special now.

They looks really good mate, match the interior well.

Seeing as I was so nice about them I think you should do me a set :rasp: haha!

Thanks I think they suit the interior real well.

I cant take any credit for making them unfortunately. I merely sanded them some more to fit and sprayed them.
Kevin.s made them and he did a great job too.

I'm not sure I like the colour choice. It's hard to imagine any colour looking better than black TBH.

Looks a bit aftermarket, IMO. :S

Nice job you've done there mate, they look a little bright in the pic, but is that just the flash? I'm sure they'll dull down a little in the sun anyways.

I've always wanted to do this mod but in silver.

I agree about coming like that as standard aswell.

Looking very nice, spot on!!
