Andy, Clio.turbo built, Looks very clean.
It is with great regret and a heavy heart I need to advertise my much loved Renaultsport Clio 182 Turbo. This has been the most fun and reliable car I have had the pleasure of driving. If you've arrived here you probably know a lot about these cars already but here's some history of mine:
I've owned and adored this car for the past 4 years. It has wanted for very little, and when it has it has it has always been replaced with an uprated part where possible. Shortly after buying it, the car went to BTM Performance (Renaultsport Specialist) in Birmingham in October 2012 for the cam belt, aux belt, dephaser pulley and a full service (£730). After that the car was flawless, yet regularly maintained and underwent minor services by my local indie garage . I have also carried out interim oil changes myself when required. It has passed every MOT in my ownership with flying colours (albeit with an advisory or two last year which were quickly rectified as you will see from the service history.)
Early 2014 I was relatively happy with the car (and the no expense spared modifications I'd fitted improving the car's already very capable handling and braking) until I spoke to Andy at Clioturbo. In April 2014 the car was dropped off at clioturbo in Durham. The car underwent a low boost turbo conversion including the aux belt changing as it was nearly due plus the clutch upgrading to an organic one to hold onto the increased power better. The car is now running 225.9BHP/207 torque @ 0.6 bar which I fully understand doesn't make for good pub figures; however the car is an absolute hoot to drive due to lack of weight and really surprises heavier cars with more power! The suspension and braking modifications/changes listed were already on the car so no further upgrade was/is necessary at this point in my opinion. Due to only running 0.6 bar there isn't a huge surge as it comes on boost and it has a relatively progressive power delivery.
More recently the cambelt was replaced at 96,615 miles and the car has currently done 2,000 since so the expensive cambelt/dephaser replacement is not due for another 5 years/70,000 miles! This was carried out at Clioturboi where Andy also did a full health check on the car and found no issues.
The car undergoes a full paintwork detail 4 times a year involving full decontamination, polishing and then sealing. In between it is washed and waxed at least weekly, and is usually immaculate inside and out. My neighbours regularly comment that if I keep cleaning it, then it'll become see-through!
Full specification of the car is as follows:

Pioneer 8400BT Headunit
Pioneer TS-Q131C Renault-fit component front speakers/tweeters
Laserline Thatcham 1 alarm with tilt sensors
The car retains full cruise control, full Renaultsport interior, traction control up until 4,500RPM etc. It is exactly what I wanted it to be... a reliable daily car that can return 35MPG+ on a gentle commute but with a highly addictive and thoroughly entertaining lively side to it once you bury the loud pedal. The turbo's spool and flutter/chatter really penetrate both the bulkhead and bonnet so when on boost it can really be heard making progress and is a real head turner!
I have put over £14,000 into making it what it is today and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of owning and tinkering with it.
Bad Points:
This is after all an 11 year old car so has age related imperfections. The front bumper has peeling paint isolated to one area (pictured) and a crack in the paint where the bumper joins the wing. Also the front bumper and bonnet have stone chips on them. The driver's seat is worn and there are various age related marks to the paint. There are also (hard to see) straight dents in both doors due to inconsiderate people in supermarket car parks opening their doors into mine.
I must have over 200 photos of this car in various states of modification, from when I first bought it through to some taken just a couple of weeks ago so please don't hesitate to ask to see them!
The only reason for sale is because due to personal circumstances - I need a bigger car. Unfortunately I have outgrown the Clio now otherwise I would definitely not be selling up!
Please note: No tyre kickers or test pilots. The car will only by driven by myself when viewing, unless money has changed hands.
