Not exactly an excuse. Just a fact, Michael. In actuality, looking at Adam's scores in the warhead bench, mine seem to follow around 5fps behind. Given his processor, that seems about right, so I'm happy.
I've got 2 hopes of beating those scores.
Bob, and No.
My machine scored 20118 in '06 with the old SLI cards.
I don't expect to get much higher with the 295, as '06 is notoriously CPU bound. Can't be arsed getting into Bench Wars just now. We all know that (for now) Adam's machine is the 'winner'. What matters is that high end PCs are simply f**king epic for playing games on :approve:
Oh Roy, dont be so bitter lol :rasp:. Benches are just abit of fun. Yes mine may well be getting better results but I would expect that but soon it wont lol.
No no. You misunderstand, fella. Far, far from bitter. I'm merely saying that of course your machine is immense. It's good to see the scores it can produce. What I'm saying is that, when the benching is over, collectively, it's awesome to own such machines for the reason we built them - games. It's almost like a special geeky club. You only 'get it' if you're willing to spend insane sums of cash monies.
Meh. Must resist i7. Not worth it. Not worth it. Must resist. 5-7fps for another thousand pounds? Where do I sign up?
