Lower gearbox mount it's fubard on the DCI, question is , shall I poly bush it or just change for another auto parts one?

Im in the mind of ' it's a diesel, nothing special under the good that needs it tbh '
Would I benefit from a poly used mount?

Opinions please?

I'd imagine being a diesel it would rattle the car a lot more. My 172 has one on and I want rid of it as at idle it vibrates the car.

Use to bad engine vibrations lol, Iv been driving around with a slowly destroying its self engine for a while.

Im thinking in terms of engine swing when accelerating, the fubard mount is just smashing my turbo against the firewall :(

Other issue I have, my local auto factors dont do the twisted version, only a straight mount.

How much are they from the stealers ?

I have one on my 172 and it noticeably increases the noise, particularly on idle as DannyR says. Personally I like the noise, but I can understand how it would grate on some people. Having said that, the quality of gear change improved vastly & I'd consider it a huge improvement dynamically.

Just think though that improvement is from upgrading from a worn mount to an uprated mount. Putting a new mount in would give you the same improvement or another good 5-7 years without added vibrations,

might aswell get a OE one then. will get the upper mounts done aswell. hopefully it will stop the emgine and box twisting ( swinging back badly )under load

It's the same as the twisted one, I fitted one the other week. It vibrates too much imo.

Don't fit the polybushes to a non rs model, as its missing the 4th mount it will oval the gearbox bolt hole. Plus, they're f**king awful!

Iirc you can just unbolt the bracket from the box with the 4th mount attached and stick it straight onto your box. The hole for the other nut should be in the subframe already so no need to swap sub frames or boxes.
