Todays pc swirl correction (finally)

  Flame Red Delight
Well today finally i was able to remove swirls, went to the scrappy today and bought myself a practice clio pearl black wing exactly the same one that is on my car actually. Was a realy state and i made it even worse by using a brush on it etc (meant it by the way :)). I finally mastered how to do it after about an hour of doing the one panel lol any ideas how to get quicker? Still got to learn about the pressures etc. Also how do you remove deep scratches? i couldnt seem to budge them? and should i get myself a paint depth guage?

This is what it looked like to start off with:

What people thinking?

looks good. if the deep marks are too deep, wetsanding is the only real way of getting them out, then polishing to remove sanding marks. getting a thickness gauge is a good idea although not really needed as your using scrap panels to practise on. taking an hour or so is pretty good doing too - never rush as thats when mistakes can happen..

good improvement. What products did you use?? Paint gauges prices vary but i think dawn on here got a decent one for around the £200 mark

used 3M pads and just used the menzerna range, starting with the 3.02 stuff then gradually building it up, £200 seems like a long term investment then lol

worth it though id say. Especially if your doing someone elses car. Remember your wanting to acheive the best possible corrections by removing the least amount of clearcoat/paint possible.

a decent LED torch will help to spot swirls and show them up better in the pictures. this is a picture i got using this torch:
