Took a drive up to the Giants Causeway in Antrim a few weeks back for my 1st time. Some serious breathtaking scenery and well worth the 1 hr drive lol. The images dont really do it justice.

I was planning to go there yesterday. Great pics. Shame about Dunluce being foggy.

Did you do the rope bridge, or did you bottle it? ;)

Will have to have a run up the Antrim coast soon. Love that road.

If I can remember my school geography lessons correctly, it's volcanic Basalt. The geometrically identical shapes were caused by molten igneous rock being pushed up to the surface slowly. The slower igneous rock crystalizes, the larger the crystals. Those shapes are whole crystals of rock.
There's meant to be a similar arrangement in Scotland somewhere from back when the British isles were one land mass.

ah ok. What did it used to be though? Strange configuration of stone to be natural ;)

It was built originally by Finn McCool, an Irish giant, so he could walk to Scotland and give Fingal a Scottish giant a damn good kicking, as he was mouthing off too him.

just google it, I thought everyone knew that. :)
