Toora Platinum 8’s

Just a small topic to inform all of you out there who are thinking of getting Toora Platinum 8s for your Clio 172 or Clio that has rear calipers.

I got a set off the internet cause i seen them on an advert, had them delivered, went to put them on and the back wheel wouldnt go over the caliper. The wheels are that unmatched for the car that they wouldnt even sit on the hub. I even tried 10ml of spacers to see how much it was out (not with the intention of keeping them!).

The offset was et40 for those of you who is going to suspect that i didnt have the right offset, i know a clio is et37. but its the shape and config of the hub on the wheel. I have had this confirmed by a couple of shops up here so its not just me!. Im told that most Tooras have fitment problems with Clios.

But i can confirm that these wheels do NOT fit a 172 so dont waste your time or money!. Mine are going back today!.

Think i will stick with my 17" Leggeras for the minute!

What the Plats? No they are getting picked up by the company today or tomorrow. I wouldnt sell them cause a: i wouldnt get what i payed for them and b: i couldnt guarantee they would fit anything!

I know... ive seen them on a 1.2 and they looked lush. Especially with a drop. Ive got 17 Leggeras at the moment and they look really nice but dont show off the size well unless you look at the car diagnally.

Never mind, looking at the Kahn RS-V monoblocks now.

I nearly creamed when i seen them, first seen them on a Golf, then on an Audi A3. V nice. Kahn are not sure whether they will catch the arch though. They only come in a 35 offset and they are suspicious as to whether the arch is in danger. Ive been asked to try a set of ET35 offset on my car to see what theyre like. Any ideas? will a et35 fit on the 172 without catching the arch?

The Kahn RS-Ss dont fit either im told.

I dont think ive ever seen any wheels that they make that i want to see on my car. My leggeras look lush from certain angles. But they just dont set off the size at all.

titans have really nice finish, but gotta love ht3 they are ones id get now if i had the choice..

mine didnt fit on the rear, they catch on a screw on the calipers, but i got 5mm spacers with em which sorted the problem.

yea they didnt fit mine either but I had a offset of ET35 and a 5 mil spacers and they fitted fine.

My Toora Plat 8s fit fine - is the wheel arch much different on a 172 then?! :s

April, It could be cause your car doesnt have rear calipers?

If you have a 1.2 then you will only have drums on the back which obviously wont get in the way cause they are flush with the hub. Where as if you have 1.4 + you will have rear calipers which stop the wheel from sitting on the hub.

not all dynamiques 1.4+ have capilers at rear. i have a 1.6 and dont think its the dynamique plus range which do.

Not that up on other Clios, thought all 1.4s + had to have calipers...
