Top Gear this Sunday

This series of Top Gear TV draws to a close over Christmas and it is likely to move location from the airfield so they wanted to see if they could get an ultimate time by The Stig around the track. Theyve had the Ferrari Enzo, Mercedes McLaren SLR, Porsche Carrera GT etc but wanted something really fast so this Sunday at 8 oclock on BBC2, a Renault sets a new track record - and a Renault built in England too! If you havent guessed, then the first and only time Top Gear have tested a Formula One car around the track will be behind the wheel of this years R24 as driven by Alonso for the last three races. Worth watching !

I know thw clio V6 time was VERY WET and I think the other cars where too, the Focus was a dry track.

Expect them all to be 5-6 seconds faster in the dry (deffo the V6, a great dry car grip)..... around the 350Z time, beating the focus.....

Looking forward to seeing what a Renault F1 car can do round the track?

Simon.

Just to give you an idea how fast it will go round the track here are the figures for some Ferraris round there Maranello test track.

360 1 min 30 sec

360 Stradale 1 min 27 sec

Enzo 1 min 25 sec

200 F1 car 55 seconds

The laps going to be well under a minute. My guess is 49 seconds.

What the other bloke said, the times for those cars are all in the wet (the V6 time was on a waterlogged track) whilst the Focus RS had a nice dry sticky track.

Well at least 4.5 - 5 seconds then, it should keep up or beat a std 350z in the dry (131.8)? and they both beat the Focus.....:D

My V6 is a real pain to push hard in the wet on bends, its SO MUCH faster in the dry on bends.

I am locked out of the forums for some strange reason?? had to enter with a different name...(its shmall btw.....)
