On the 172, are they the large rubber part with the brass bush inside? If so how much should the bush be able to move inside the rubber??

Also would this cause knocking/clunking when turning in fast at any speed? Only when turning left at the moment and is cumin from the drivers side!! ie when there is pressure on that side.

My top mounts knocked on my 182 and they modified the strut and added shims or something to fix it ..

no warranty for me im affraid its doin my box in this noise I just wanna fix it but know one knows what it is for sure

looks like renault noticed the same problem on the V6 (which has identical top mounts to a 1.2 clio which are identical to a 172)

they've put a spacer in on the V6

so is that likely to cause this clunking noise? and should the bush be able to mover fairly free in the rubber?

sound like the top mounts are worn aswell

lol aswell as what, also should I be able to pull the cover (bump stop) right off the strut? it wont budge on the passenger side.
