Top mounts

Car  182 Trophy
With the car sat on the floor, my top mounts are not sitting flush on the turret, but rather slightly raised at an angle - you can kid of see it in the photo below;

Apologies if it seems like a silly question, I've never had a car where the top mount doesn't bolt to the turret, and my gut feeling is that something isn't right.

Both sides are the same, which has made me think that perhaps it is supposed to be like that, and not run off straight away and take them apart.

there supposed to be raised above, if thats what u mean , and if there both on same angle i wouldnt worry about it

A mechanic once said something similar when they were working on my car.

When JMS did my service I asked them about it and was told that it's fine.

On lock, one mount will be higher than the other too.

Do they not bolt to the body and the bearing moves inside of it? Eliminating the "tilt" from the mounts? Or are they just solid to reduce the flex?

The ones on my Mondeo and Focus bolt to the turret and have a bearing to allow it to turn.
