topmount bearing

Jack car up
Remove wheel
Undo the top mount for the strut under the bonnet
Undo the 2 bolts holding the shock to the hub
Unclip the ABS line from the shock
Wiggle the shock out
Put the spring compressor on the spring (I know thats not always how you do it if you know what there doing so don't pipe up as its good practice)
Undo the nut on the top of the shock
Take the rubber donut buit off
There your top bearing remove and replace

Put it all back together.

brilliant, thanks. i think i know a few people who have spring compressors so ill look into that too.

no!

172cup kit is £54.78+vat per side

BUT

1.2 clio is the same (different part number, but identical) £27.34+vat per side (kit)
