Toyo Proxy’s orEagle F1 GS-D3’s

  Ford F-150 5.4 V8

Im after some new tyre as i got a puncture before Xmas and dont really want to replace it with another conti!

Ive seen the toyos for about £40 a corner and im expectin the GS-D3s to be about £80 a corner!

Are they really worth the extra??

Oh yes!

Mine now have a few hundred miles on them, and pushed the car pretty hard for the first time with them on. Grip to the road like glue, and were a big factor in managing to overtake my mate in a scooby on the outside of a big roadabout.

I had Toyos on before and would never go back, despite the cost of them.

BTW, I paid £72 each for 195/45/16s

Got the Toyos at the mo, not all that in the wet.

Id say pay the extra dollar and go for the Goodyears mate, thats wot im going for next time, especially with the wet weather and all.

I paid £290 for four Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 just before Christmas. They offer amazing levels of grip, and the ride quality is much improved over the Contis.

Just keep calling branches of Kwik Fit trying to get them to beat the prices youve been quoted by the last one. Thats what I did. They started out at £86.50 a tyre!!

lol

Cool will keep that in mind

Dont need any just yet do, got my deep grooved uniroyal rainsports, grooves must be atlaest 10mm deep

Definitely worth every penny the F1s. Although its much cheaper for us non 172 Clios as we can opt for 195/50s which, being a more common size, can be had for £55 a corner fitted.

The grip levels are unreal. 60mph on a medium sized local r/bout in Manchester before it starts to scrub wide with understeer.

On lift off oversteer the slip seems much more progressive as well. The Conti Premiums (on all lesser models) were far more snappy. These just glide gently and you can easily anticipate any movement.

Thus enabling 60mph on this r/bout.;)

i use Eagle Venturas, basically similar to the GSD3s but better in the wet and slightly worse in the dry, and 10 cheaper per corner

i paid £47 a corner for them but in 185/65 fitment

Toyos are great in the dry but they suck in the wet, you tend to give them too much faith int he wet cos youre used to jut gripping in the dry and its easy to lose it

at least with the eagles you get great all round performance! when it gets to summer il probably buy some GSD3s for the improved dry grip :D
